Dr. McManus will be discussing Bioenergetics of Brain Aging: Implications for women and Alzheimer's risk.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Name a few functions of mitochondria that are critical for brain health.
     
  2. Name one mitochondrial stress signal. 
     
  3. Understand how mid-life changes effect mitochondrial function in females and may predispose to Alzheimer's disease.

The educational objective for the APAL Grand Rounds Series is to improve medical providers’ knowledge and skills in diagnosing, treating, and supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The APAL Grand Rounds Series is held monthly on a Friday from 12 to 1pm.
