Dr. Muzik will be discussing Healing Across Generations: Promoting an Infant Mental Health Perspective in the Context of Perinatal Care.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe core Infant Mental Health (IMH)/relational health concepts—including “serve and return” relational reciprocity and reflective functioning—and how they support development of infant-parent relationship.
- Recognize how perinatal stress, trauma, depression, and PTSD can affect caregiving and relational health, and identify relationship-focused supports and strategies.
Identify strategies for IMH/relational health promotion in routine clinical encounters and as psychotherapy approach
The educational objective for the APAL Grand Rounds Series is to improve medical providers’ knowledge and skills in diagnosing, treating, and supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The APAL Grand Rounds Series is held monthly on a Friday from 12 to 1pm.
