Dr. Grandner will be discussing Perinatal Insomnia

Learning Objectives: 

  • Increase knowledge of the 3-P model of insomnia, including predisposing, precipitating, and perpetuating factors, and its relevance to clinical management.

  • Increase awareness of the physiological and hormonal changes in pregnancy that impact sleep and contribute to the development of insomnia.

  • Increase confidence in safe and effective management strategies for insomnia in pregnancy, focusing on behavioral approaches and patient education.

The educational objective for the APAL Grand Rounds Series is to improve medical providers’ knowledge and skills in diagnosing, treating, and supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The APAL Grand Rounds Series is held monthly on a Friday from 12 to 1pm.
