APAL Named BCBS AZ Foundation for Community & Health Advancement 2024 Mental Health Matters Grantee

Congratulations to the Arizona Perinatal Psychiatry Access Line (APAL), recipient of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation for Community & Health Advancement's 2024 Mental Health Matters grant. The Foundation funds programs and applied research related to its four health focus areas – chronic health conditions, health equity, mental health, and substance use disorders. 

Funding will enable APAL to give 1,500 providers access to expert, evidence-based recommendations from board-certified perinatal psychiatrists. In turn, more perinatal women will have timely access to optimal mental health and substance use disorder treatment, resulting in improved health, birth outcomes, and quality of life.
