Cathleen joined the APAL program as the Licensed Clinical Social Worker after 16 years of experience in the Arizona community mental health system. Cathleen earned a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College. Throughout her career, Cathleen has focused on increasing the capacity of children and families to navigate challenging situations with tools, reflection, and compassion. Cathleen has supported children and their caregivers as a Care Coordinator, Supervisor, Child and Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor. Cathleen most recently supervised a team of master’s level therapists providing relationship-based interventions to children and their caregivers as well as bachelor’s level care coordinators who helped families develop goals and connect to resources to support improved functioning. Cathleen holds an endorsement as an Infant Mental Health Clinical Mentor (IMH-E®) and a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). Cathleen has extensive training and experience supporting children and families adapting to common mental health diagnoses as well as the impact of trauma, attachment, and family stress on relationships. Cathleen is passionate about increasing access to mental health care and supporting families.
